Kane & Unke

Yoskay and I had the great privilege of stopping by the Kane & Unke warehouse yesterday. Not only are the owners the nicest dudes in the world, but they also make reeeediculously cool clothes. Check out this commercial, showcasing their fall line of jackets, which me and Yosk will be proudly showin off in New York.

NY

Geeeeeeeez, I'm ready for a break. And I'm almost there. Just shipped a few pieces off to Amsterdam a couple days ago. Now I'm hard at work trying to get a couple good paintings ready for New York next week. It should be an awesome show. And I think most of the artists are going to be in attendance. So look out, NY...I'll finally have a minute between shows to breathe and I'm comin' to drink you under the table.

busy

Since my solo show this past Saturday, I've been workin hard to crank out a couple new pieces for an art fair in Amsterdam Oct. 29th through Nov. 1st. Contact Bo.Lee Gallery for more info.

And if you're in the LA area this weekend, I HIGHLY recommend checking out the Hello Kitty anniversary art show at Royal/T. I think it's open to the public this Friday. Check out the ridiculously long list of artists here.

heads up

Everything is hung and ready to go in the gallery for tomorrow nights show. I'm pretty excited. It's lookin nice. There's a couple things I just wanted to give everyone a heads up on before the show.

First off, I will have a few drawings available that weren't up on the preview. So if you're in the area, come in and check everything out. I actually also just added a new painting to the online preview today..it's titled, "Never Alone"

Also, I'll have these nice little gocco print & pin packs for everyone who pre-orders my show catalog. Each print is hand screened, signed, and numbered. The 2 pins are cropped images from I think 6 of the paintings from the show.

Starting tomorrow, you'll be able to pre-order the catalogs through Lebasse Projects. I don't know if you've gotten one from Yoskay or Edwin before, but they are pretty ridiculously nice. All are hand signed and numbered. I think mine will be an edition of 100 and will be somewhere around $25-$30. If you're not around for the show you can contact the gallery and they'll help you out.

Can't wait for tomorrow. Hope to see you there. :)

more previews

so all my posts lately are all about the same thing, but at least i'm posting SOMETHING. Just wanted to give you a lil heads up about a couple things. Hung-Hei from Arrested Motion stopped by the studio last week to get a few preview shots from the upcoming show. And it looks like the good peoples over at Slam Hype borrowed the images for their own little shout out. Thanks so much to the folks from both sites. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the support.

Oct. 17th commercial

Thanks to Jeremy for putting up with me and my lack of sleep and focus today and cranking out this awesome lil teaser for my show on Saturday. Enjoy!

Nate Frizzell "Lost in The Thicket" Teaser from Modus Films on Vimeo.

'Lost in the Thicket' new work by Nate Frizzell

LeBasse Projects warmly welcomes gallery represented artist Nate Frizzell for his new solo exhibition, Lost in the Thicket. In this much anticipated show, Frizzell introduces new themes of self discovery within his work.

While Frizzell has always striven to create work that speaks about the human condition, Lost in the Thicket finds the artist's scope narrowed to the concept of discovering one's own identity and the obscured paths that follows. As a result, each painting becomes a metaphor for choosing different paths in life, while finding oneself.

Though his illustrative meets hyper realistic aesthetic always exhibits Frizzell's tremendous technical merit, he aims to push the envelope even further in this collection in terms of both depth of subject and physical skill. As a result, 'Lost in the Thicket' features stunningly detailed works in which a series of protagonists radiate from their surrounding environment with matched innocence and helpless confusion.
